Runner Up ‘UNPLUGGED’ Rae Santos
Rae Santos has been at the forefront of artists making waves on the Mornington Peninsula since 2015. From small bars to huge festivals, Rae plays with his heart on his sleeve every time he sets foot on stage. He was runner up of Two Buoys ‘Unplugged’ a few years ago and continues to harness the ability to shape-shift between moods and styles: anywhere between folk, rock and RnB.
Rae's voice carries an indescribable warmth, so sincere and heartfelt that it leaves you entranced, curious and wanting more.
Rae’s songwriting contains elements of John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi. He has been working to evolve his sound and has opened his inspirations to artists ranging from Khalid and Daniel Caesar to Paramore and Dashboard Confessional.
One thing you may not know about Rae is that he struggles to keep a straight face when his producer (Spud Thompson) tries to make him laugh while recording vocals.
Working with an industry professional who also happens to be his best friend makes for an amazing time in the studio. To top it off Rae and Spud often get sidetracked when Rae decides to bring his Nintendo Switch into the studio. Rae says, “it’s a bonus that together we get to have lots of laughs, whist always getting the job done”.
