“This is Jersey. He is 15 months old and would not have a bar of wearing a Christmas hat. Here’s our goofy boy who brings so much joy into our family home. Jersey is always bringing his toys to us any chance he gets so that we can play tug of war with him. We’ve also had to keep an eye out on our socks and underwear because whenever they are in his sight Jersey will be sure to do a runner outside with them and will shred them to pieces. But despite missing socks and underwear, we love our cheeky boy dearly”.

Our family adopted the beautiful Bear five years ago from Second Chance Animal Rescue. He was the missing link we didn’t realise we were missing till he came into our family. He is my fifth child and is obsessed with food of any kind. I am usually the first one up in my house of a morning, so am privileged to be the first to greet Bear with his sweet and sleepy eyes and matching excitedly wagging tail. That’s when we share the sweetest moments together and start the day on the best note. Bear rescued us, his family, to be honest, and our lives are far richer for having him in it. 💓Juzzy & family
Our love for our pets is probably a function of multiple factors that contribute simultaneously to our deep affection for them. They continue to love us regardless of any personal flaws that might cause other people to stop loving us. My encouragement is for us to consider each pet as a gift to human community and to provide a space for deep conversation to appreciate their past and present significance in our lives and relationships.
