The Daily Mirror’ in the month of May welcomes some wonderful people who I have met in my new community who also reside on the Mornington Peninsula.

Founder of HappinessFirst, Rose Farfalla has made it her duty to provide Happiness, First to the lives of people & families who are living with all abilities.

As its name suggests, HappinessFirst Cafe' is a place of joy. Coffees and tasty treats are served with grins and genuine hospitality, by staff proud of jobs which provide them self-fulfilment and connection.

HappinessFirst provide inclusive services and programs for people living with all different abilities. There services are completely customised to meet individual needs, and achieve individual goals.

HappinessFirst is not just any café and retail store on the streets of Rosebud – it’s a workplace that removes labels and empowers staff to move beyond their disability and into meaningful employment.

Rose wanted to help in creating a more inclusive world for them, by sharing their achievements and stories with the world.

“The café is in direct response to participants wanting to feel a part of the community, and deserving to have jobs where they’re valued, challenged, and supported. It’s become more complex for employers to hire people with a disability, and COVID further impacted opportunities. This trend created roadblocks, so it was time to be a part of the solution.” Founder- Rose Farfalla

The supported employment model helps enhance skills, self-confidence, self-worth, and happiness for life. The moment you sit yourself down as a patron in this innovative cafe’, located at 1377 Point Nepean Rd, Rosebud VIC 3939, you are served a slice of inclusivity.

“After spending lots of resources trying to find jobs for our participants I decided “stuff it” why not create a supported environment for them? A workplace where everyone can learn, feel supported and (wait for it) GET FAIR PAY. This is the world I choose for all participants now and into the future who join us”- Founder Rose Farfalla Mornington Peninsula local.
