Taylor Piggott: Music, Resilience, and the Power of Honest Storytelling
Taylor Piggott has always believed in the transformative power of music. A singer, songwriter, and mentor from Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula, Taylor has carved out a career that is as much about connection as it is about sound. His journey has taken him from intimate backyard gigs to international stages, from mentoring young musicians to creating a backyard creative hub. At just 30 years old, Taylor’s story is one of resilience, reinvention, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.
Growing Up with Music
Music has been part of Taylor’s life from a young age. What began as strumming chords on a guitar soon grew into a love of songwriting and storytelling. He learnt from a very young age the impact music has not only on yourself as the writer, but as the listener. He was drawn not just to melodies, but to the way songs could capture the rawness of human experience. This passion evolved into a career, with Taylor eventually stepping into the world of full-time music — a leap that brought both freedom and responsibility.
Over the past eight years, Taylor has performed for crowds at his own secret gigs, weddings, corporate events, and festivals, building a reputation as a versatile and heartfelt artist. In recent years, he has also toured internationally, spending three months on a busking tour through Europe, including performances in one of his favourite places, the Swiss Alps.
Humble Studios – Building a Creative Hub
Alongside his performance career, Taylor founded Humble Studios, a backyard creative space on the Peninsula. More than just a recording studio, Humble Studios has become a community hub for mentorship, vocal coaching, songwriting, and artist development.
For Taylor, Humble Studios isn’t just about producing music — it’s about helping others find their voice. He’s passionate about guiding emerging artists through the often-daunting journey of discovering their sound, building confidence, and stepping into their artistry. Many of his students describe him not just as a coach, but as a mentor who creates a safe and inspiring environment for creativity to flourish.
Projects and Musical Evolution
Taylor’s artistry is multi-faceted. His solo work carries a raw honesty and intimacy, while his collaborative projects explore different textures and influences. He is currently recording a new artist project that takes everything he has learned on his journey as “Taylor Piggott” into a fresh direction — one he is very excited to share.
Across all his projects, Taylor’s music reflects themes of love, loss, resilience, and the human condition. He draws inspiration from artists like Hozier and Hazlett but always filters those influences through his own lens of vulnerability and storytelling.
Heaven’s Not Ready for You
Among the many songs Taylor has written, one holds a particularly special place in his heart. Heaven’s Not Ready for You is a deeply personal track dedicated to his beautiful mum, Suzie. Written during a challenging chapter, the song captures both the fragility and the strength found in the bond between mother and son.
The lyrics reflect Taylor’s raw emotions as he navigates the reality of his mum’s cancer journey - a mix of fear, hope, love, and gratitude. It is a song that honours her resilience and was written to lift her spirit through her diagnosis.
For Taylor, the process of writing Heaven’s Not Ready for You was both cathartic and healing. It gave him a way to process his emotions and, in turn, offer comfort not just to himself but to others who may be walking a similar path with their own loved ones. The song has already resonated deeply with audiences, reminding listeners of the power of music to put words to feelings that are often too hard to speak.
More than just a release, it stands as a tribute - a musical love letter to his beautiful Mumma Suzie.

Community, Connection, and Storytelling
What threads Taylor’s journey together is his deep belief in connection. Whether through songwriting or mentoring, his life is guided by a desire to uplift others and create spaces where people feel heard.
On stage, he uses music as a bridge, inviting audiences into shared emotional experiences. Off stage, he builds community — from mentoring young musicians to engaging in conversations about mental health, resilience, and personal transformation.
Taylor’s story is also about honesty. In sharing openly, he hopes to show others that vulnerability is strength, and that every journey — no matter how messy or difficult — has value.
His journey is still unfolding. With new projects, new music, and new chapters ahead, one thing is clear: Taylor Piggott will continue to use his story — both the triumphs and the struggles — to inspire others, one song and one conversation at a time.
