Leith was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013 with a PSA (Prostate-Specific antigen) of 12.5. Within two weeks of the diagnosis his prostate was removed and six weeks later Leith’s PSA level had dropped to about three, which meant the cancer was still active.

A decision was made by medical professionals that Leith would undergo treatment for prostate cancer and after having thirty-nine rounds of treatment, unfortunately there was no improvement. After having more scans, the radiotherapist realised they were injecting treatment to the wrong area in his body! This was a little concerning to say the least.

Leith continued to have ongoing scans and as a result, they found a cancer spot sitting on his colon and another cancer spot at the bottom of his rib cage. Leith was told they could not operate on the colon cancer and was informed that the cancer spot near his rib cage was very small. He was told to come back in 6 months for reassessment.

With time on his side Leith did his own homework. He had already been researching other forms of cancer treatments so with scans in hand, his spontaneity got the better of him and he flew to China. When he arrived, he immediately went to see the doctor that he was communicating with and by the end of the consultation, Leith was given a seaweed-based liquid to drink every day, for one week.

Exhausted from the long flight and medical appointments, Leith retreated to his hotel room for the next twenty-two hours and rested.

Twenty-four hours later he was escorted to a hospital where he was given light and laser treatment. Leith believed that whatever the doctors were doing for him, made sense (to him anyway) and he was confident that the natural potion, as he calls it, that he was inducing daily was going to cure the cancer in his body.

Once Leith concluded his treatment in China he returned home to Australia. He was told to return to China in the future to partake in two separate follow up treatments.

Just before Leith was to return to China someone recommended, he call a Melbourne oncologist. Apparently, somehow had spoken to the oncologist and told him about the treatment Leith was undergoing in China. After meeting with the Doctor in Melbourne Leith cancelled his flight to China and was advised to stay in Melbourne to begin treatment.

Leith was given ten targeted shots of radiation to the cancer near his rib cage and thankfully he had a successful outcome.

In early 2015 Leith was told he had stage four cancer and two years to live. His reply was “watch this space”. In his mind Leith was going to fight this dreaded disease!

In his spare time Leith began to do some research on medical cannabis oil and without hesitation obtained the right seeds from overseas and grew his own plants in a hydroponic tent. He extracted the oil, and then took it orally (about the size of a grain of rice) every two hours for three months. Leith also made his own enema treatment with the right amount of oil mixed with coconut butter and gave himself a nightly dose. Magically, his home-made remedy produced great results.

Three months later Leith had a scan and PSA test. The exact words from the oncologist were, “Leith well fucking done, your PSA is 1.

In about 2018 Leith’s cancer returned and it was decided that chemotherapy treatment was required. The treatment shrunk the size of his cancer, but the side effects left him facing hair loss to all parts of his body and feeling very unwell. After the chemotherapy treatment his scans showed no improvements.

The medical team explained to Leith that the cancer was as though someone had sprinkled icing sugar inside certain parts of his body. The good news was that the cancer had not attacked any of his vital organs.

With no positive change, Leith’s oncologist referred him to Peter Callum Institute. After a meeting with the medical team and lots of scans, Leith was told that he was a perfect candidate for a new trial radiation drug which was about to be introduced. Leith’s PSA levels at this stage were at 1065. Thankfully he wasn’t feeling sick with the disease.

While Leith was undergoing scans and treatments at Peter Callum Institute, he was lucky to be chosen to be one of the first three candidates in the world to be given an opportunity to take part in a new trial cancer treatment. Grateful to have been taken under the wing of such an amazing team, in Leith’s words “what fantastic people they are at Peter MacCallum Institute.”

The new trial drug involved six treatment sessions and lots of scans every six weeks.

The outcome of treatment leaves the whole body entrenched with radiation and patients need to isolate for a couple of days until the radiation drops to an acceptable level. The only side effect is feeling tired for a couple of days.

Leith’s PSA has dropped down to ‘136’ at last count and he has one round of treatment still to go.

Leith has currently enough oil (90mm) to treat the cancer again for another 3 months.

Leith’s advice to anyone who gets this insidious disease is to “Find your feel-good tribe, stay positive and treat the cancer with contempt. And above all, surround yourself with family and friends who make you happy. You don’t need any negativity hindering your best outcome”.

In conclusion Leith believes that organic natural remedies such as medicinal cannabis oil should be considered as a therapeutic treatment for cancer patients and people with chronic pain. His experience with medical cannabis was based on the belief that his home-made organic cannabis oil was a good alternative to help him reduce his prostate levels. Clearly this was the outcome. He had no hesitation in treating himself in this way and has since revisited inducing organic cannabis oil as an ongoing alternative for treatment.

Leith believes that cannabis oil should be made readily available for people who have cancer or are experiencing and suffering with chronic pain.

Leith strongly supports the need for change when it comes to alternative treatments and believes that organic medicinal cannabis oil should be readily accessible and affordable, Australia wide, world-wide.
